I was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease in 2018, and my doctor told me my kidney was the size of an acorn. That moment sparked my love for all things acorn. At the time, I was working for a nonprofit that serves children with kidney disease and was craving a creative outlet. I fell in love with the idea of decorating cookies—creating something joyful that people could truly enjoy—and decided to give it a try.
In 2020, when the world shut down, I made a cookie inspired by the COVID virus, and Acornistic was born.
Today, I am the Events & Marketing Director for Northwest Kidney Kids, continuing my passion for supporting children with kidney disease. When I’m not working or decorating cookies, you can usually find me at Portland Winterhawks games as a season ticket holder or curled up with a good book. I now create delicious, custom cookies that make people smile and add a unique, memorable touch to life’s special events.
